What does Lego, bacon and now fashion have in common? The answer? They’re all currently major exports from Denmark. Nørgaard, owned by, surprisingly, Mads Mathias Nørgaard, who describes his style philosophy as being deeply in love with ever changing fashion, while simultaneously slowing it down ‘a little’, making items that ‘just don’t change’.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a Nørgaard summer look that will will surely stand the test of time.
Am I the only one who thinks that the motif looks like a very post-modern take on the 1965 ‘Mondrian’ cocktail dress by Yves Saint Laurent? Anyway, tuck this shirt into your jeans/shorts/chinos and roll the sleeves up for an effortlessly cool and fitted look.
In fact, why not tuck that shirt into these ‘Khakis Dylan Navy’ chinos. As we’ve come to expect (based on our Basic Histories), chinos began life in the military before being taken up by the general public. These chinos from Nørgaard have been specially treated for a ‘broken-in feel’ (a.k.a comfortable).
As for shoes, consider a pair of deceptively simple ‘White Leather Madson Sneakers’ for an updated and slightly higher-end take on the classic white sneaker. For sun glasses, try the ‘Shady Alka Smoke’ for a retro fit but a modern transparent material.
Finish the look off with this smart ‘Parana Jarki’, available in both grey and black. A close cousin to the famous Harrington, this jacket is incredibly versatile and will be your port-o-call not only through the summer months, but throughout the rest of the year too.
