As yet another bead of sweat drips from my forehead I am rudely reminded of this heat and the lacklustre air con in my office. All I have to rely on is the occasional breeze from outside, and let me tell you, in central London right now it is not a common occurrence. Yesterday, in a moment of fantasy, I wrote about shorts for men from Scotch & Soda, so it only seems fair that we take a closer look at what Maison Scotch has to offer for the girls. And ladies, I envy you as not only do you have the option of shorts in this weather but also the easy breezy freedom of a skirt.
Like their Scotch & Soda counterpart, Maison Scotch’s emphasis on bold prints with their shorts and skirts is what has got me most excited for in this mui caliente climate, even if it is but for a little while.
This collection of cargo shorts come in a mix of prints. While the prints differ from each other, each carries with it a bohemian theme and warm colours. Pair with tops of similar warm tones or be a bit braver, more playful, and clash with another bohemianesque print. Perfect to see in the last weeks of summer, be it a beer garden, BBQ or nice getaway to catch the end of the season.
Perhaps it’s nature or maybe it’s nurture? Regardless, it feels inherent in me that I go wild over anything with a leopard print on it. Call me Mel B. Walking a fine line between trash emoji and heart eyes emoji aka my aesthetic. Camp, kitsch and fierce, I am always all in for a leopard print so it is no surprise that I recommend these chino shorts.
Until men can get over their frail masculinity, I will always envy the option of a skirt that ladies have. These particular ruffled and free flowing skirts immediately caight my eye. Predictably, for their bold use of colour in their print. Be it blue or pink both are valid choices for the hot days and just as hot nights. On top of that, you can also pair them with sleeveless tops with the exact same print to bring fun print blocking to your look.
